Priority Service unavailable - UK Home Office confirms case backlog.

Priority service

Backlog experienced as Home Office confirm Priority Service is unavailable

Individuals applying for UK visas should be aware that currently the priority service is not available for purchase.

The Home Office has confirmed that, due to a backlog in cases, it cannot meet its usual service standard and therefore, the priority service has been temporarily suspended.

Check your applications

Applicants should check their applications from time to time to see if the service becomes available, but the Home Office has confirmed that there is no set timeline on when we can expect the service to become available once more.

All applicants from inside the UK should pay special attention to this, as they are not permitted to travel outside the UK whilst their applications are processing. These individuals are advised to carefully plan their trips around the Home Office’s processing times to ensure they don’t lose money on cancelled plane tickets.

This backlog seems to also be affecting applicants from outside the UK; employers are advised to take this into consideration when hiring visa holders from outside the UK.
