you have a grandparent who was born in the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man;

you are able to work and you plan to do so in the United Kingdom; and

you can support and accommodate yourself and any dependants adequately without help from public funds

This category also leads to settlement in the UK. Once you have completed five continuous years stay in this status and still intend to work, you can qualify for indefinite leave to remain.
